Freydis sat on the floor of the cell chained to a thick wooden post.A door opened somewhere in the Abbey and she could hear the crowd still shouting,she could make out their shouts,they were calling for her to be beaten now,that they wanted to see her;she then heard the Abbess speak,but couldn’t hear what she was saying,there was still a hum from the crowd.
Freydis chained in the Abbey’s cells.

“You have a lot to learn,my girl; what is your name?” the Abbess asked,staring at Freydis with a look of longing in her eyes.Freydis could tell that the Abbess was enamoured by her. Freydis remained silent.
The large Nun with the stick raised the stick and said,”Answer the Abbess,you wicked heathen!”
Freydis remained silent and then the Nun hit her ,hard across her bottom with the stick causing Freydis to curse and jump.
“I am Freydis,unchain me and see how I deal with you pigs,I will kill you both slowly and make you suffer “!
Another slap with the stick,Freydis cried out.

Another Nun rushed into the cell and helped the Abbess to her feet.Blood trickled from the side of the Abbess’ mouth,there was anger in her eyes as she said, “Hold her,give me the stick,hold her!”
The stick was handed to the Abbess who rolled up her sleeve of her habit as the large Nun and the other Nun who had entered the cell pulled at the chains tying Freydis to the post,pinning her against the post and causing Freydis to scream and curse the Nun’s.
The Abbess approached Freydis and hissed, “Now you will learn!” The Abbess brought the stick down and across Freydis’ bare,already sore bottom, four times before dropping the stick and again kissing the back of Freydis’ neck and using her hands to grope her bottom.Freydis struggled,but she could not break free ,she hated the Abbess touching her,she hated being helpless at the hands of these perverted Nun’s but there was nothing to do for now but to accept her fate. Another Nun appeared in the cell holding a girl roughly by her arm and this interrupted the Abbess’ passion.

“Ah,Brona,” the Abbess addressed the tall,brown haired girl, ” You have been sent to us again,it seems I believed you the last time when you said you would be good and be a dutiful daughter…it seems I was too ready to believe you,this time i will not be so trusting,this time you will suffer…privately,not publicly like Freydis here,” the Abbess said returning to look at Freydis. “Bring Brona to the next cell,I will deal with her there momentarily.”,the Abbess said to the Nun holding Brona. Freydis could see Brona,she felt sorry for her and watched helpless as the Nun dragged Brona away.
“That girl has fire in her,she wanted to be one of us, you will never tame her as you will never tame me,” Freydis said. This statement brought a sharp slap across her bottom from the Abbess’ hand.
“We shall see,my wicked heathen,we shall see;I think you should be more concerned about your own fate tomorrow than that of Brona’s”,the Abbess said and left the cell.
The chains were released and Freydis collapsed to the ground.The Nun’s left her and went to join the Abbess in the next cell.
A few moments later Freydis could here Brona being spanked and she could hear the Abbess saying, “You wicked,wicked girl,you will suffer this time”. “Are you alright?” Freydis asked.
“Yes,they will have to do a lot more to break me,I want to join your people,if I get out of here I will join,I hate it here,” Brona said.
“You are brave,I would be proud if you were one of us,” Freydis said,admiringly.
“My Father wants to send me to the Abbey at Northfont,to be taught by the Nun’s there,I have heard horrible things about them,how they beat the girls there;I will not go,” Brona said,there was defiance in her voice.
Both girls chatted for sometime but then they must have dropped off to sleep for suddenly the door of the cell was opened and Brona was dragged out.

Two Nun’s steeped forward and pushed Freydis’s head into the stocks,her hands were each placed into stocks and the heavy wood frame of the stocks was brought down,clamping Freydis inside.Her bare bottom was already being whipped by the cool breeze of that Autumnal morning when the Abbess spoke again,” I have decreed that Sr.Gertrude will flog Freydis ; 20 lashes are to be administered to this Heathen girl”. The crowd cheered again.Freydis heard a voice say,”Beat her,beat her,we cannot wait any longer”!
Sr.Gertrude stepped forward,whip in hand and began to take aim at Freydis’ bare bottom,her bottom had suffered so much in the last twenty fours hours at the hands of these perverted Nun’s.
